How it all went down

My contractions started on Wed. morning at about 5 A.M.. They were coming at 15 minutes to 30 minutes apart, not consistent at all and they weren't bad. I went about my day like nothing at all. At about 9:30 P.M. We went to the grocery store and my contractions started to get a little stronger and more consistent about 15 minutes apart. At about 11:30 P.M. the contractions were at about 7 minutes apart, but still not bad but Jared must have seen me in a lot of pain because he insisted on calling the midwife. So he calls and she tells us to get over there as soon as possible. It usually takes about 40 minutes to get there, so after packing some snacks we leave around 12:15 A.M. So of course it takes longer to get there because we were behind a cop most of the way there. We arrived at the clinic at 1:06 A.M. It takes me 5 minutes to get out of the car because I had a contraction and I had to wait and as I'm stepping on their porch my water breaks. At this time it was 1:11 A.M. I barely made it to the bed when the baby was coming, I felt his head crowning and he was born at 1:19 A.M. Jared was all hands on (he could have done it all by himself)because the midwife was there alone, the assistant did not make it on time because it went so fast so Jared even had to help deliver the placenta he was so great. I'm glad I listened to him and left when we did or else we would've had this baby on the road. 4 hours later we went home. It's amazing how fast the human body can recover. I felt better faster without the drugs than when I had my girls with an epidural.

Wow! That was fast!

And, I have to agree - I feel SO MUCH better without an epidural than I do with one. I'm planning on doing this one naturally (if things go my way!)

Congrats again!

I hope things go your way, for me it was the best birth experience I've had. It hurts a lot! but oddly is a good kind of pain.
